Fire Mustang is a horizontal shoot 'em up developed and published by NMK for the arcade, where it was originally known as USAAF Mustang. It was ported to the Sega Mega Drive, in Japan only, by Taito.
The player flies a P-51 Mustang, a fighter plane in wide use during World War 2, and takes on Axis enemies across multiple levels in different geographical locations. In addition to standard fire, the Mustang also drops bombs with shorter range that fall beneath the player's position. They also have a limited number of "Forcer" bullets, which damage all enemies on the screen. The standard fire can be upgraded with power-ups.
